Verification of rust reduction in chilled water of air conditioning systems for anti-corrosion effectiveness! Case study on measures to prevent leaks and extend the lifespan of air conditioning piping!

At Hospital #I, due to the significant deterioration of red rust in the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping, which uses galvanized steel pipes (SGP) that are 19 years old, we installed a red rust prevention piping extension device called "NMR Pipe Protector" to prevent leaks. Before the installation of this product, we sampled the circulating air conditioning chilled and hot water, and found that the total iron content in the water was very high at 5.1 mg/l due to red rust, indicating that corrosion from red rust in the piping was quite advanced. Three weeks after the installation, a sample of the air conditioning chilled and hot water showed that the total iron content in the water had decreased to less than 0.03 mg/l, completely halting the progression of new red rust in the air conditioning chilled and hot water. It was demonstrated that the red rust that had been present in the piping had transformed into insoluble black rust, which is 1/10th the volume of the original. If Hospital #I continues to use this product, the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping will no longer require updates in the future, and costs will be reduced to less than 1/10th, extending the lifespan of the building. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

A case where the progression of new red rust in the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping completely stopped just 52 days after installation!

The hospital had been built for 27 years at the time, and the air conditioning chilled and warm water piping, which used galvanized steel pipes (SGP), was experiencing significant deterioration due to red rust, raising concerns about leaks. Before the red rust corrosion could progress any further, a red rust prevention piping extension device called "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed. After 52 days of installation, under the same conditions, the water sampled from the air conditioning warm water showed a transparent color, and the water quality test results indicated that the iron ion concentration in the water was 0.27 mg/l, which is below the water quality standard value (1.0 mg/l) set by the Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association. If this product continues to be installed in the hospital's air conditioning chilled and warm water piping, it has been verified that the red rust deterioration and leaks in the piping will be completely prevented, extending the piping's lifespan to that of the building. [NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Hospital #A

In one year, a total of four units were installed for the water supply and hot water supply piping, in addition to the air conditioning hot water piping!

At Hospital #A, which was built 31 years ago and uses galvanized steel pipes (SGP) for its air conditioning hot water piping, the deterioration due to red rust has progressed significantly. To prevent future leaks, we installed a red rust prevention pipe extension device called the "NMR Pipe Protector." Before installation, we sampled the circulating air conditioning hot water, and the total iron content in the water was found to be 130 mg/l due to red rust, indicating severe corrosion within the pipes. Two weeks after the installation of our product, the total iron content in the air conditioning hot water was significantly reduced to 4.6 mg/l. Furthermore, four weeks after installation, the total iron content was measured at 2.7 mg/l, a reduction to 1/50 of the initial value. The progression of new red rust within the pipes was completely halted, and the existing red rust had transformed into an insoluble form in water, changing into black rust with a volume reduction to one-tenth. The progression of new red rust inside the piping has completely stopped! The durability of the red rust prevention effect has been demonstrated.

At Hospital #K, which was built 30 years ago, deterioration due to red rust in the air conditioning chilled and warm water piping using galvanized steel pipes (SGP) has progressed. To prevent leakage, a red rust prevention piping extension device called "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed. Before installation, a sample of the circulating air conditioning chilled and warm water was taken, revealing that the total iron content in the water was 3.6 mg/l, indicating significant red rust corrosion within the piping. [NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Hotel Serve Shibuya

Completely prevent water leakage damage from air conditioning piping used in hotels!

At Hotel Serve Shibuya, galvanized steel pipes (SGP) are used for the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping, and there was a concern about the deterioration due to red rust and leakage from the joints. As a countermeasure against red rust deterioration and leakage, a red rust prevention pipe longevity device called "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed. Before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, water samples were taken from the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping, revealing that the water was tinted light brown, with a total iron content of 5.8 mg/l, indicating significant red rust corrosion within the pipes. Two weeks after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the total iron content in the water within the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping significantly decreased to 0.6 mg/l. In a water sample taken four weeks after the installation, the water was nearly transparent, with the total iron content further reduced to 0.5 mg/l. It was proven that new red rust was completely prevented within the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping, and the existing red rust had transformed into inert black rust. Going forward, if the use of the NMR Pipe Protector continues to prevent external corrosion at Hotel Serve Shibuya, all red rust in the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping will change to black rust, and it has been demonstrated that this piping can be extended to the lifespan of the building. Naturally, leakage has been completely prevented thereafter.
